Ethos and Character
As a church we are passionately and determinedly committed to a process of growing in maturity in Christ through the power of the Spirit.
We see this expressed particularly in
- knowing, trusting and loving God - devoted to Him in prayer, corporate worship, hearing and obeying His Word.
- belonging to one another in Christ - developing relationships in which there is love, forgiveness, reconciliation, encouragement, truth, accountability, forbearance, holiness
- becoming people whose lives reflect the character of God - His grace, holiness, generosity, justice - so that we are empowered and consciously engaged with Him in His mission in the world, seeking the lost, healing the broken, freeing the enslaved, doing justice for the oppressed - seeking His kingdom.
We intend that all we do is shaped by and assessed in the light of this vision and ethos.
Lifepoint is a contemporary church on a journey; a church that is in a process of changing and growing, that God is calling to take some risks in order to be the community that God wants and to reach the culture in which He has placed us.
Lifepoint is a city church made up of a diverse range of people, with different occupations, interests, cultural heritages, places we live, family situations and Christian backgrounds.
Lifepoint is a Pentecostal church. As such, we long for, expect and experience the Holy Spirit working among us - bringing us to God in true worship; enabling us to hear God's Word; gathering us in Christ to form a community of God's people and to experience and complete the salvation Jesus has won for us; and empowering us to be witnesses to the good news of God in the world.
