About Val

For over 25 years Val Bateup has poured her life into spreading the good news about Jesus to Thai children. Val oversees the Good News Team —a committed team of local Thais who regularly travel throughout Thailand sharing the gospel in a fun way (mainly in state-run Buddhist schools). Hundreds of thousands of children have been impacted by the Good News Team and the literature that the team creates.

Many children have come to know Jesus in a life changing way through Val and the Good News Team. Now, some of those children who were reached by the Good News Team ministry in the early years are leaders in the Thai Church, and many teenagers and young adults are being discipled by the Good News Team. As well, the Team has a large ministry among Thai prisoners.

Val increasingly finds herself involved in mentoring Thai Christian leaders—in the Good News Team; through her local church; teaching at a Bangkok Bible College; and leaders across Thailand who have come to trust her wisdom, experience and maturity.
