After a crippling accident to Bishu, Bishu and Vijaya Chowdhuri have pioneered the Christian Discipleship Centre – the only fulltime residential bible college in Bangladesh . Over 600 local people have graduated and almost all are serving in villages and towns across Bangladesh, sharing the Good News of Jesus.

Pray for Vijaya's CDC Leadership

Pray for Vijaya Chowdhuri as she continues to lead the Christian Discipleship Centre ministries. Pray for wisdom, strength, courage and compassion as she often has to deal with challenging situations. Please also continue to pray for her health, that God will sustain her and give her bodily strength for her responsibilities. Pray for the majority background believers involved in the discipleship course at the moment – that they will grow in God and become established in His love, truth and freedom.

Vijaya resettling in Bangladesh

Vijaya Chowdhuri has resettled well in Bangladesh, very appreciative of her time with us. She asks for prayer for the new intake of students (19 adults with 3 children) as they continue in their studies, and particularly as they are shaped in a life of prayer – the start the day with common prayer at 6.45am, prayer at other times alone and together and finish with praying together at 10.00pm.

This week the new course for majority background believers has started – please pray for these people who are very poor and often suffer persecution.

Pray also for the 15 slum schools that have started up again – that they will be places of learning and love. Continue to pray for Vijaya’s health.

Pray for Vijaya returning to Bangladesh

Pray for Vijaya Chowdhuri as she readjusts to the overbearing environment in Bangladesh – the pollution in particular places a lot of pressure on her health.

Pray also for wisdom as she continues to lead the CDC ministry, to navigate some complexities in staff relationships as well as continue to develop the vision of seeing people in the villages of Bangladesh have opportunity to know Jesus, to get education and develop a livelihood in this incredibly poor country.

Pray for the new discipleship course for Muslim background people beginning soon.

Vijaya seeks prayer for graduates and students

Vijaya Chowdhuri is deeply thankful for the prayer and support of our church.

She is asking for prayer for the Diploma students as their year of study comes to an end and they are seeking the Lord about next steps.

Please also pray for the part time discipleship course for poor students from the majority background - pray these people will be deeply established in their following of Jesus.
